Important spellings
- The correct wording is “Miles & More“, not “Lufthansa Miles & More”.
- Miles & More must not be wrapped in bodies of text contained in offline media or in pre-defined online formats (e.g. on banners).
- Miles & More must always be written with a space before and after the “&”, and without hyphens.
- The URL miles-and-more.com is always written without a preceding “www.”. Unless this is not possible for technical reasons.
- Use of the word “Miles” is permitted in headlines, provided the copy clearly states that the term refers to Miles & More award miles.
- Besides “Miles & More award miles“, the text can then proceed to speak of “award miles", but not of “Lufthansa miles” or “Lufthansa award miles”.
- Word combinations featuring “miles” must not create any new kinds of miles: e.g. “Bonus miles”, “extra miles” or “flight miles”. Compositions such as “miles boom” or “miles splash” are also prohibited. Words like “milestone” must only ever be used in conjunction with their original meaning.
- We always use the term Miles & More service card number, not the Miles & More card number.
- Miles & More members can only ever “redeem“ the miles they earn; they can never use miles as “payment”.
- Only the terms “flight award“ or an “award flight“ are acceptable, never “flight tickets”, “free tickets” or “free flights”.
- The following footnote must always be included in connection with Fly Smart award flights: “You will find the Fly Smart terms and conditions at miles-and-more.com”.
- It is important to avoid using the term “free” in connection with award miles. Here it is better to speak of “additional“ or “XXX Miles & More award miles for you!“.
